“Favourites is about identity in the digital age,” he says. “I was interested in how online dating is a sort of snapshot of this identity crisis. Through the speed and structure of the song, I wanted to capture the feeling of the real you inside your head trying to get out and escape during a first date.”

Pizzorno adds that Little Simz ‘completely blew him away’ and that this collaboration achieves ‘something he always wanted to do, make music with hip hop or grime artists’.
The track is out today, released under the project name The S.L.P. A debut solo album from Pizzorno is to follow, recorded during a one-year break from Kasabian.
