Damon Albarn was in London last weekend performing with his Africa Express project, but was his Blur bandmates who stole the show when an unannounced reunion took place.

Performing together for the first time since their Magic Whip campaign wrapped up in 2015, the quartet brought out Tender, Song 2 and Parklife track Clover Over Dover – a track they’d never played live before.

Africa Express recently released an EP entitled MOLO with a new studio album due in the summer. This show, meanwhile, was held in a circus tent in Leytonstone and headlined the Waltham Forest London Borough Of Culture celebrations which also welcomed performances from Afrikan Boy, Dennis Bovell, Dobnet Gnahore, Georgia, Jockstrap (Georgia Ellery), Kinshasa Sound System, Khaladjula, Krar Collective, Michael Kikuwanu, Poté, Slaves, The Turbans, Terry Reid, Toya Delazy, Tony Allen, Yasmine Hamdan, Batida, Django Django, Ellie Rowsell, Gruff Rhys, Imarhan, Joan As Police Woman, Mista Silva, Moonchild Sanelly, Morena Leraba, Muzi, Onipa, Rokia Traoré, Sibot and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
