The Killers have unveiled a stand-alone single entitled Land Of The Free which is described as a ‘heartfelt lament inspired by current events and recent national tragedies’.

It was recorded at their Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas with producer Jacknife Lee and guest vocalists Lynn Mabry, Dorian Holley, Will Wheaton, Sherree Patrice Brown, Akasha Mabry, Amanda Brown, Danielle René Withers and Erica Canales, while they handed over full creative control to director Spike Lee for its video.

The track follows on from the most recent studio album Wonderful Wonderful, and as their at-the-moment-estranged guitarist Dave Keuning prepares to release his own debut solo album. “Despite conjecture, The Killers are the same four weirdos we’ve always been,” they said when Keuning’s break was revealed.

“And worry not, we will not be performing as a two-piece. Dave will be taking a break from touring to spend time with his family. We respect his decision, just as we respected Mark’s decision to go back to college.”
