Franz Ferdinand will headline Manchester’s British Sound Project event as part of their comprehensive Always Ascending touring.

“We’re very excited to have Franz Ferdinand on board for our third British Sound Project,” co-founder Steven Wood has said. “With The Cribs confirmed and other big names under our belts, it’s looking like the strongest line up to date, and it feels good to be established on the festival calendar.”

As mentioned, The Cribs are among those who’ll also be performing at Victoria Warehouse on September 22nd – Prose, Larkins, Glass Caves and Berrie on the bill too.

Concluding our Always Ascending review, Live4ever noted that, ‘Change for its own sake is rarely a good idea, and the instances where this leads to good results can be counted on the fingers of even fewer hands’.

“Always Ascending is no buffer record, but the sound of a new band coming to terms with its past as opposed to being slaves to it, or merely tossing their own legacy away in a fit of pique. The results could leave it stranded between old fans and new, but if any outfit were built to relish the tensions caused by that it’s Franz Ferdinand.”
