Reverend & The Makers have released the latest single from their new album The Death Of A King.
Auld Reekie Blues will feature on the LP when it is released on September 22nd after time spent in Thailand at Karma Sound Studios. “As soon as we got there, the king of Thailand died,” Jon McClure says.
“And there was a mad monsoon. Most of the town went into mourning and shut down, and all the people who worked at the studio were wearing black. There was this whole ceremony for the king, which was quite moving but it put a weird atmosphere in the air.”
The band are at the UK’s Looe Music Festival in Cornwall at the end of this month, and later have headline gigs booked in Glasgow, London, Sheffield and Manchester.
