The company behind Liverpool’s Hope & Glory Festival has gone into liquidation amidst the fallout from its cancellation last month.
Complaints of overcrowding in the city’s St Georges Quarter during the inaugural edition of the event resulted in its entire second day being cancelled, after which a statement from organisers said they were, ‘conducting a full review into what happened, however it is clear at this early stage that multitudinous failures by the Production Management Team, headed by Richard Agar, resulted in a plethora of issues that meant the decision to cancel the festival was made’.
However, with reports of £890,000 being owed to 32 creditors, liquidation has been filed with Liverpool City Council commenting that they are ‘seeking recovery of costs associated with the clean-up operation’, and ticket sites including Skiddle ‘aggressively pursuing Hope & Glory’ after 50% refunds were issued to weekend ticket holders.
