The diversity of Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman and The Kills’ Alison Mosshart have already been confirmed as guests on the new Foo Fighters record Concrete And Gold – now Dave Grohl has divulged an extra special appearance on the album.

Paul McCartney plays drums on one of our songs,” he told ET Canada. “He’s a pal. We’ve known him for a long time. He’s great. He’s the most wonderful person in the world. He’s a great guy.”

“He hadn’t even heard of the song. He comes in and Dave picked up an acoustic and showed him real quick. He sat on his special drum set that his tech set up for him. I sat there with a drumstick conducting. He did two takes.”

Concrete And Gold is released on September 17th, produced by Greg Kurstin who has also been working closely with Liam Gallagher on the former Oasis man’s debut solo album As You Were; Gallagher is one of the leading names confirmed for Foo Fighters’ rock celebration CAL JAM 17, held at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, CA on October 7th.
