Footage of The Beatles on location during the filming of Help! has been unearthed more than 50 years after the movie’s original release.
The tapes were discovered in a garage by actor Neil Pearson after he had been asked by the daughter of the late Leo McKern – who played the antagonist Clang in Help! and captured the footage – to assist with the dispersal of ‘her mother’s collection of children’s literature’, reports The Guardian.
“Being the daughter of Leo McKern, there was quite a lot of additional material in the house that was of interest,” said Pearson.
“Most of it was books, manuscripts and bits and pieces but there was a reel of film in a case, which had the title Snow Scenes.”
The 8mm film and its copyright has now been put up for sale by Pearson, who is seeking £35,000.
