Photos: Packed London Scala for The Orwells

The Orwells were in London earlier this year playing tracks from their latest album Terrible Human Beings at the Scala. Live4ever’s Alberto Pezzali battled his way through a jam-packed pit to bring you the gallery.

The huge influence of the Pixies during the band’s recording of their follow-up to 2014’s Disgraceland has been previously laid bare by guitarist Matt O’Keefe who remembered them as an ‘obsession’. “The Pixies were an obsession when we were writing this album,” he said. “I think that’s where a lot of trying to make the songs and the guitar parts very simple was coming from, because the Pixies are kings of that.”

“We’ve always been a simple band, but this time it was about trying to keep everything straightforward, nothing flashy.”
