Biffy Clyro, Slaves and Oasis were some of the triumphant acts at yesterday’s NME Awards.

In the usual contradictory style of these ceremonies, Biffy Clyro were named Best British Band despite their only other nomination being for Best Festival Headliner, while Slaves came out on top in the Best Video category and Oasis picked up two awards on the night, for Best Reissue (Be Here Now) and Best Music Film (Supersonic).

Elsewhere, The 1975 were named Best Live Band, while holding up a very neat mirror to the 2017 incarnation of NME was the awarding of Best Album to Bastille.
