Lots of festival news coming in at the moment as events around the world build their line-ups for 2017, among those being Benicassim whose organisers have today added Liam Gallagher, Kasabian, Blossoms and Slaves.

It swells an increasingly busy summer of festival appearances for Gallagher as the solo chapter of his career gets into full swing, while Kasabian are the final headline act to be confirmed, joining Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Weeknd at the top of the bill.

Liam Gallagher signed with Warner Bros. last year ahead of the release of his maiden solo album, this coming after the splits of Oasis and Beady Eye in 2009 and 2014 respectively. “Liam’s one of the all-time greats – brilliant, distinctive, controversial and captivating,” Phil Christie, president of Warner Bros Records UK, said at the time.

“The album he’s currently recording is big, bold and heartfelt, and it feels important and culturally relevant. Such a strong return for one of the UK’s most loved artists.”
