The White Stripes unhappy with ‘disgusting’ use of Seven Nation Army in Donald Trump video

Jack and Meg White have been able to agree on something: their mutual dislike of Donald Trump.

The pair have been estranged since at least 2011 when the break up of the White Stripes was officially confirmed, but they’ve now released a joint statement denouncing Trump’s use of Seven Nation Army, though it seems no-one is quite sure whether the Republican candidate has actually officially endorsed the use of the track.

“Regarding the use of ‘Seven Nation Army’ in a Donald Trump campaign video, The White Stripes would like to unequivocally state that they have nothing whatsoever to do with this video,” the band said in a statement, regardless, via Third Man Records.

“They are disgusted by this association, and by the illegal use of their song.”

Jack and Meg are now at the back of a long queue of artists who have bones to pick with Trump, in front of them being R.E.M., Queen, The Rolling Stones and plenty others.
