Warpaint and their latest album Heads Up were at the London Roundhouse on Thursday night, from where Live4ever’s Alberto Pezzali brings back the photos.

A more focused dalliance with electronica is what we found on the album:
“For an outfit usually long on artistic expression in as many formats as they can grab, it may surprise that beats are more important to the foursome than first impressions might suggest, with past citations for electronic music’s many ley lines as parts of their composite.”
“That these were less to the fore previously hadn’t really seemed to matter, but on ‘Heads Up’ many choices now seem to be determined by the direct route, the skeletal beats of ‘Don’t Wanna‘ and ‘By Your Side‘s chunky abstractions peeling away some of their dreamier layers, although perhaps disappointingly the spectral ‘Dre‘ is a homage in name only.”
