Michael C Hall, who has been taking the starring role on the Lazarus musical, will lead a tribute to David Bowie at the Mercury Prize ceremony on Thursday.

Backed by the production’s house band, led by Henry Hey, Hall is to perform the title-track as part of this year’s Mercury bash, where Bowie’s final studio album ‘Blackstar‘ is posthumously nominated and considered one of the favourites for the prize.

It takes place at the Eventim Apollo in London, with Radiohead and Michael Kiwanuka some of the other front-runners.

The news comes as a 2CD/3LP album of the musical prepares for release on October 21st, shortly before the musical moves to London’s Kings Cross Theatre. Its tracklisting has the final recordings made by Bowie before his death last January – ‘No Plan‘, ‘Killing a Little Time‘ and ‘When I Met You‘.
