Slaves‘ second album ‘Take Control‘ is out on September 30th.

Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman confirmed the news on social media and will be looking to continue a run of good form which carried the duo on to the BBC’s Sound Of… shortlist at the start of 2015 and landed them a Mercury Prize nomination for the debut album ‘Are You Satisfied?‘.

They’ve built up to the announcement this week with a gig at the 100 Club in London and the unveiling of a new track entitled ‘Spit It Out‘ which is now available to those who pre-order the album.

Mike D, the legendary Beastie Boys member, produced the LP – “we can safely call him our friend, which is just surreal,” Vincent gushes.

“There are a few things that got me excited about working with Slaves,” Mike D says. “First, a friend had sent me ‘Are You Satisfied?’. I feel right now the world needs an album like this. Something that is more raw, more alive and less polished.”

“I was impressed with the band’s strong point of view. They actually speak their minds about social topics.”
