There’ll be a moment to remember Viola Beach for those attending this weekend’s Reading/Leeds Festival.

The band, whose lives were taken in a car accident along with their manager Craig Tarry earlier this year, played the BBC Introducing stages in 2015. A year on, the tragic events in Sweden will be marked on the Friday in Leeds and Sunday in Reading.

“Please join us and BBC Music Introducing in paying tribute to Warrington band Viola Beach and their manager Craig Tarry, who we sadly lost earlier this year,” Reading’s official website states. “It was on the BBC Music Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds where the boys played one of their earliest festival sets, showcasing their irrepressible energy and huge potential.”

“We will be dedicating a moment on the Main Stage to the ‘boys that sing’, whose lives were tragically cut short. Join us in celebrating their memory at Leeds on Friday at 17:35 and Sunday 18:05 at Reading.”

An album of nine tracks recorded by Viola Beach prior to their deaths was posthumously released earlier this month and reached number one in the UK.
