Haim are, well, aiming to recreate the rockier sound of their live show on their forthcoming second album.
As with the polished sound of their 2013 debut ‘Days Are Gone‘, the sister trio have refused to be rushed in the studio as recording started in Los Angeles, moved on to Ariel Rechtshaid’s Silver Lake studio and later settled with former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij.
There’s been little in the way of updates during this time too, but plenty of nuggets are in a new interview with Rolling Stone, in which Danielle explains:
“On the first record, we were really obsessed with mixing the two in a way where you couldn’t tell if a snare was real or a sample. We still love that, but this time we came at it from a more organic, rock standpoint. Because when we play live, we realize that ultimately, we’re a rock band.”
Haim should have new material in tow when they play the Reading/Leeds Festival this August.
