Liam Gallagher has described the forthcoming Oasis biopic as ‘biblical’.

The former frontman, whose potent vocals, attitude and showmanship played a big part in propelling the band to worldwide superstardom, offered his glowing verdict on Twitter after taking in a first cut of the film which has been worked on by the same team behind last year’s award-winning Amy movie.

That rise to worldwide success which reached a peak in the mid-nineties is expected to be the centre-piece of the film as it follows the band’s journey from a Manchester council estate to record breaking nights at Knebworth Park almost exactly twenty years ago.

Gallagher’s older brother and Oasis’ main songwriter Noel gave an update on the rockumentary earlier this year, telling GQ in February:

“We have all this footage from behind the scenes leading up to the gigs, most of which can’t be used as there’s just monstrous drug taking.”
