Jeff Buckley‘s cover of The Smiths‘ ‘The Boy With The Thorn In His Side’ – which is part of the posthumous ‘You and I‘ album – has climbed one place to top this week’s UK Vinyl Singles Chart.
The remix of Noel Gallagher‘s ‘Chasing Yesterday‘ album track ‘The Mexican‘, titled ‘El Mexicano‘, has also climbed this week and is at #2 as Muse, Foals and the Manic Street Preachers complete the Top 5.
Dedicated vinyl album and singles charts were launched by the Official Charts Company last year in recognition of the continuing resurgence of the traditional format – the singles chart is compiled from sales of 7″ and 12″ records.
