Jeff Lynne‘s ELO will take the Sunday tea-time slot at Glastonbury this year.

It’s a place on the bill which has, particularly since Johnny Cash in 1994, become almost as sought after as the Pyramid Stage headline spots, and in 2014 was reportedly responsible for the festival’s biggest ever crowd thanks to Dolly Parton.

ELO’s ‘Alone In The Universe’ album was one of the biggest sellers in the UK last year, and their booking at Glastonbury is confirmed after co-organiser Emily Eavis talked them up back in November.

“The most recent confirmation was our Sunday teatime slot, which is something I’m personally very excited about,” she told the BBC.

“It’s a major coup for us and a genuine surprise. I don’t think anyone has rumoured or guessed this one.”

We’re still waiting for those aforementioned Pyramid Stage headliners, with the likes of Adele, Muse and Radiohead among those being tipped for 2016.
