David Bowie, Beatles albums lined up for UK Record Store Day

Record Store Day

The first round of special releases have been unveiled for this year’s UK Record Store Day celebrations, and typically there’s plenty for vinyl enthusiasts to sink their teeth into.

It looks like an exclusive 50th anniversary re-release of David Bowie‘s ‘I Dig Everything: The Pye Years 1966‘ compilation is likely to be one of the most sought after records on April 16th, while the soundtrack of Across The Universe – a film comprising various Beatles compositions – is to be released on double vinyl for the first time.

Some other notable releases come from Mumford & Sons, who have lined up some as-yet-unconfirmed 12″ singles, while Florence & The Machine is to put out ‘Delilah/Only Love Can Break Your Heart’ as a 12″ EP.

Launched in 2007, Record Store Day is credited with leading a huge boom in vinyl sales which is predicted to see figures go past the two million mark this year.
