U2 are busy working on a new album which guitarist The Edge has compared to 1993’s ‘Zooropa’.
While the title ‘Songs Of Experience‘ draws a direct line back to 2014’s ‘Songs Of Innocence‘, The Edge has told Q the band are being pressed by producer Brian Eno to work on something less straight forward this time. “Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it’,” as he explained. “I think there’s a quality you get when there’s a certain momentum to the process.”
Frontman Bono added to the story by saying his cycling accident in New York, also in 2014, has actually contributed positively to the recording process.
“The gift of it was that I had time to write while in the mentality that you get to at the end of an album,” he said.
