The Last Shadow Puppets are officially back with their new single ‘Bad Habits‘.

It’s been a while – over seven years since ‘My Mistakes Were Made For You‘ was released as the final single from debut album ‘The Age Of The Understatement‘ – yet the track does bare the hallmarks of the sound which propelled that LP to a Mercury Prize nomination.

Alex Turner and Miles Kane‘s imminent studio reunion was first discussed publicly by producer James Ford, who said during an interview with Rock & Pop last November:

“This year, I’ve just done a Last Shadow Puppets record, which is the guy from Arctic Monkeys and Miles. So we did the follow-up album to that. That’s the last thing I did.”

Their debut LP was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2008 along side the likes of Laura Marling, Radiohead and Adele. The eventual winners were Elbow for ‘The Seldom Seen Kid‘.
