Girl Band, Soak and Villagers are leading the Choice Music Award, which has been highlighting the best in Irish music since 2005, honouring The Divine Comedy, Two Door Cinema Club, Jape and others during that time.

Girl Band are up for the €10,000 prize thanks to their debut album ‘Holding Hands With Jamie‘ – one of Live4ever’s top picks of last year – while Soak has been nominated thanks to the excellent ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream‘ and Villagers for ‘Darling Arithmetic‘.

“The Choice Prize provides a great opportunity for new Irish writers and performers to showcase their creativity to such a wide audience and winning such an award provides real career impetus both within and outside of Ireland,” said Victor Finn, chief executive of funding organisation IMRO.
