Coldplay have released an official video for ‘Birds‘, directed by Marcus Haney and shot at California’s Salvation Mountain.

‘Birds’ features on Coldplay’s recent ‘A Head Full Of Dreams‘ album, which last month became the band’s first to not debut in the UK charts at number one thanks to Adele‘s ‘25‘. Frontman Chris Martin has previously told Rolling Stone the LP’s sound is a result of them bringing together all of their favourite music, ‘from Drake to Oasis‘.

“We wanted to marry all the music that we love, from Drake to Oasis,” he said. “There was a feeling that we don’t have anything to lose. We’re very comfortable now with the fact that we’re not for everybody.”

Coldplay will tour ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ throughout Europe in the spring, dates which include a four-night stay at London’s Wembley Stadium in June, and further outdoor UK gigs in Manchester and Glasgow.
