Wilko Johnson will head back out on the road in April next year, joined by blues musician Joanne Shaw Taylor.
The Dr. Feelgood hero starts on April 14th at the ABC in Glasgow, and will move on to Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol and Leamington Spa during the next week ahead of a closing date in Kentish Town on April 23rd.
Of course, every opportunity to catch Johnson live should be cherished after his recovery from what was first diagnosed as inoperable cancer at the start of 2013. It was a new diagnosis and surgery which led the guitarist to declare himself ‘cured’ by the autumn of last year.
It’s a remarkable story told in film by Julien Temple’s The Ecstasy Of Wilko Johnson, which was released on DVD this month.
