Alt-J, Florence & The Machine and Foo Fighters are among the acts who will compete for Headliner Of The Year at the 2015 European Festival Awards, whose shortlist was confirmed today (November 23rd).
There are no UK festivals nominated in the Best Major, Best Medium-Sized or Best Small categories, though Glastonbury will look to defend the Best Line-Up prize which it won last year.
“2015 has been a buoyant year for Europe’s festival market, evidenced by the raft of successful and diverse new events entering the market this year, ranging from the small and intimate Amsterdam Woods to the huge and epic Lollapalooza Berlin,” comments co-founder and director Steve Jenner.
“This year’s voting shows that passion for festivals has never been greater and the shortlists portray an exceptionally colourful, creative and vibrant festival landscape that any European should be proud of.”
The winners will in fact be announced early next year, at a ceremony in Groningen, Netherlands on Wednesday, January 13th.
