Band Of Horses chieftain Ben Bridwell has said the band’s new album is ‘almost done’ and will be out early next year – although he’s not necessarily happy with the planned release time.

“It makes me angry that it doesn’t come out in autumn because it’s a perfect record for that season,” he told Binaural. “Strange to think that it will come out in a time when the weather comes alive.”

It’ll be their first since 2012’s ‘Mirage Rock‘, after which Bridwell embarked on a solo venture under the moniker Birdsmell.

“Regardless, this project was pure enjoyment for me and it was nice to not give a damn about anything, but having fun recording these songs,” he said of the project in 2013. “I’ve now decided to take this approach on the road on the Birdsmell tour, which will be coming to a Deep Southern town near you this fall.”
