The Cure announce December gigs at London’s Eventim Apollo

cure-300x208After starting the year with the so-far-unfulfilled intention to release a new double album, complete with recordings that date back to 2008’s ‘4:13 Dream‘, The Cure will end 2014 on a more definitive note with two nights at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo in London.

There’s no surprise whatsoever in how the band have described their template for the shows, which will be the usual epic affairs: “The band will be performing a 150-minute show playing songs drawn from their entire 37-year-old catalogue including deep cuts, pop songs, fan favourites and surprises galore,” a Facebook statement reads.

“Reprising the role they performed at the same venue 30 years ago each concert will also feature And Also The Trees as support.”

The gigs take place on the evenings of December 21st and 22nd, tickets go on sale from this coming Friday (November 7th). The Cure were most recently spotted on the rolling Riot Fest in North America, which took them to Toronto, Chicago and Denver throughout September.
