After their latest album ‘Sonic Highways’ was released earlier this week, Foo Fighters have announced a series of stadium concerts to take place in the UK next year.

Backed by principal support acts Iggy Pop and Royal Blood, the band will play Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light on May 25th, and then move on to the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester on May 27th, Wembley Stadium on June 19th and 20th and finally Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on June 23rd. A general sale of tickets starts from November 21st, after a pre-sale two days earlier.

‘Sonic Highways’ is currently trailing Pink Floyd‘s ‘The Endless River‘ in the race for the new number one album in the UK.

“It may not have the obvious hits of some of their other albums, but ‘Sonic Highways’ is as strong as anything they have released,” our review ends. “This is the sound of the Foo Fighters at their most mature, most comfortable, and perhaps their most exciting.”

“This is the sound of a band achieving exactly what they set out to do, and in music you cannot ask for a purer pleasure than that.”
