Howling Bells will be out on the UK trail from the end of May armed with their new ‘Heartstrings‘ album.

After a gig at the London Oslo on April 7th, the band start a more prolonged spell on the road at the Guilford Boileroom on May 29th, and move into June with a show at the Bodega venue in Nottingham. They end on June 9th at Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms.

‘Heartstrings’ is released on June 2nd and was borne out of sessions at London’s Assault and Battery Studios. During its recording, the band had the specific aim of finishing one song a day for eleven consecutive days – something which singer Juanita Stein says proved to be a tough, but ultimately rewarding challenge:

“Having a deadline means you’re forced to make crucial artistic decisions in a very short time. You don’t have the luxury of overthinking. I feel this process shaped the album. As a result, you become incredibly connected to the musical spirit of the band.“We loved every second of it.”
