Gallery: Maximo Park bring ‘Too Much Information’ to Manchester

Led by the always entertaining frontman Paul SmithMaximo Park brought their ‘Too Much Information‘ album to the Manchester Academy last weekend, and you can follow the evening’s highlights in full courtesy of Live4ever’s Gary Mather by clicking on the lead image below.

The band’s UK tour suffered a false start after Smith went down with an eye injury at the start of this month, causing gigs in Portsmouth and Bristol to be rescheduled, but they arrived in Manchester bang on time to showcase the new LP which went in at number 7 on the UK Album Chart in February.

That should help to secure them a busy summer of festivals, with Smith recently telling XFM the fortunes of their fifth studio release was likely to influences the nature of their future live plans. “I think people often wait to see how your album does,” he said. “It’s all very industry, which is stuff we don’t even deal with, even though we obviously put records out and we want people to buy them and come to our shows in their droves. You kind of wonder.”

Maximo Park also have US tour dates booked for May, while Paul Smith is likely to see two solo records being issued as 2014 progresses.
