Video: Moby makes directorial debut on ‘A Case For Shame’ promo

Moby has made his bow behind the camera on the official video for the first single to be taken from his new album ‘Innocents‘.

A Case For Shame‘ is a collaboration between Moby and Cold Specks, and showcases his eleventh studio record which is due for release on September 30th. “’A Case For Shame’ is the first video I’ve shot and directed for one of my songs, as in addition to directing I was also the camera person,” Moby explains.

“The video narrative is as follows: I’ve drowned, and I’ve gone to an after-life inhabited by people who are concealing themselves because of shame. The masks are not meant to be conventionally frightening, the masks and sheets are being worn because the after-life people are hiding, because they’re ashamed.”

Mark ‘Spike’ Stent – a past cohort of the likes of Madonna, U2, Oasis and Muse – has produced the album, while guest appearances will come from Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips and Mark Lanegan amongst others.
