Miles Kane has described his forthcoming second solo album as taking its chief sonic inspiration from the past single ‘Inhaler‘ and being, ‘Upbeat, heavy and catchy’.

Kane also described the album to BBC Newsbeat as, ‘Big and positive’, and confirmed he is hoping it gets a release before this summer.

“That was sort of the blueprint to make this real upbeat, heavy, catchy album,” Miles says. “That’s what I’ve done, I can’t wait for it to get out there.”

The new record was preceded last month with the ‘Give Up‘ EP, which had been recorded with the songwriting help of Kid Harpoon, while The Lightning SeedsIan Broudie acted as producer.

Later in the interview, Miles Kane also spoke enthusiastically of his time on the NME Awards, when he toured the UK with Django Django, Palma Violets and Peace.

“It was fantastic – it felt like we were part of something as a gang,” he said.
