The Hop Farm festival owed thousands of pounds to two of its three 2012 headliners at the time it entered administration last year, according to a report in the local paper Kent News.
The unearthed figures suggest Suede were owed £46,000 by Vince Power’s parent company for their headline performance at Hop Farm in 2012, while Peter Gabriel was apparently unpaid to the tune of £100,000.
The two acts’ fellow bill-topper last year, Bob Dylan, appears to have been paid up in full for his appearance.
Despite the event’s move into administration, Vince Power recently told Kent News he is determined Hop Farm will be back as normal this summer, and is already working on arranging a line-up.
“It was always my intention to do the Hop Farm, I have the rights to do the Hop Farm and the Hop Farm will take place from July 5-7, 2013,” he remarks. “At the moment, we have sold a small amount of early bird tickets and we are confirming acts. We hope to announce the bill very shortly.”
