Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture has opened up about the recording of the band’s imminent album ‘Comedown Machine‘, and said the various bandmates were all together during its creation as opposed to the fractious nature of the ‘Angles‘ sessions when the individuals often spent their time alone in the studio.
“We got off tour and we had these songs, some left over and some new,” he told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1. “We rehearsed in Electric Lady and it was working so we went with it. It was touch and go for a while but we finished up at Electric Lady in New York.”
“We recorded ten or eleven songs and there is other stuff floating around. He added: “We hashed it out all together like the good old days. It’s a legendary studio and it is not far away from us all, apart from Nick who lives in Los Angeles but he made the trip out to record.”
Fraiture also admitted that while he would ‘love’ to tour the album, The Strokes do not as yet have any concrete live plans.
