Johnny Marr has unveiled his first solo video as the parent album ‘The Messenger‘ prepares for release early next year.
The LP’s title-track can be viewed via YouTube below, and will feature on the album when it hits the shelves on February 25th 2013. ‘The Messenger‘ was recorded in both Manchester and Berlin, and was later mastered at Abbey Road by Frank Arkwright.
“It is late in the day to be making my debut,” Marr recently told NME of his solo plans. “I didn’t want to be in someone else’s band at this point. In the past I might have been reluctant to stand up front, and I’ve been lucky enough to be in bands with great singers, so it wasn’t necessary. But this is my band now, and the frontman in my band has to play guitar. I do both.”
Meanwhile, Johnny Marr will be the special guest of Dinosaur Jr. on December 1st when the band is due to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their ‘You’re Living All Over Me‘ record at New York’s Terminal 5 venue.
