Friendly Fires will headline a gig at the London XOYO on December 12th which aims to raise both money and awareness regarding the suicide rate amongst young men, after their friend Adam Connolly took his own life earlier this month.

A post on the gig’s Facebook page explains:

“The friends and family of Adam Connolly, who tragically took his own life on 14th November, have joined together to organise a party on Wednesday 12th December to celebrate his life and to raise awareness and funds to prevent suicide among young men.”

“Perhaps it sounds a tad predictable in these kind of circumstances but we wanted to do something that celebrates Adam’s life, his amazing creativity, and his beautiful warm, kind soul as well as showing how much we deeply love and miss him.”

“The evening of the 12th is our way of sharing a little bit of happiness around recent events by picking out some music by a selection of bands and djs that mean something to Adam in one way or another.”

Actor Mat Horne will host, with Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve (Erol Alkan), Chapel Club, Ben Cornershop, Trailer Trash Tracys, Charlie Bones (NTS), Sexbeat and The Holy Trinity all set to DJ on the night.
