Members of the Foo Fighters and The Black Keys were the special guests of Neil Young at the free Global Citizen Festival in New York over the past weekend. The extended jam can be viewed via YouTube below.
The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters joined the US veteran for a performance of ‘Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World‘ during the five-hour event, which took place in Central Park and had been arranged as members of the United Nations General Assembly prepare to meet in the city next month.
Foo Fighters and The Black Keys had also performed earlier in the evening along with the likes of Band Of Horses and K’naan, while songwriter John Legend covered John Lennon‘s classic ‘Imagine‘.
Over 60,000 people attended the festival according to reports after signing up to globalcitizen.org where they could ‘earn’ a ticket by watching various videos highlighting the issues of various global crises such as poverty and malaria.
