Dave Grohl appears to have pointed at a long break for the Foo Fighters after the lengthy touring commitments for their 2011 album ‘Wasting Light‘ were finally brought to an end at the Global Citizen Festival in New York last weekend.
The US heavyweights have enjoyed a hugely successful eighteen months since the release of their seventh studio record, but now would seem to have an uncertain future following Dave Grohl’s comments to the Huffington Post after their New York show.
“Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this,” he said. “This is it, man. This is the show where we come out and we play as many songs as we can in a short period of time, because, honestly, I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again and this is the perfect place to do it, right now, tonight.”
Dave Grohl had previously told the Reading Festival that particular gig would be their last UK outing ‘for a long time’, but did later play down the significance of the comments on Twitter.
