Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke has appeared to suggest the band’s imminent new album ‘Four‘ could prove to be their last.
The record will mark Bloc Party’s return from a lengthy hiatus which began in 2009, and Okereke has admitted to Australian radio station Triple J he felt they ‘were done’ at that time, and that he may well find himself to be in a similar mindset in the near future.
“When we took a break in 2009 I was in the mindset that we were done,” he has said. “Our relationships were in such a difficult place that this was it, this was the end. I don’t know where we’ll go from here, I don’t know what will happen. But I know if this is the last thing we ever do, then we’ve done everything I wanted to do.”
‘Four’ is due for release on August 20th, and will be Bloc Party’s first LP on their new label Frenchkiss Records.
