Reports The Strokes recording new album denied by management?

strokessq1After recent reports had suggested The Strokes were in the studio working on a new album, the band’s management have apparently now denied all aspects of the story.

Pitchfork claims the management have said the New York band are not working on a new album, are not recording with Gus Oberg, and have not been in New York’s Electric Lady studios. Apart from that, Billboard was spot on.

The reports appeared to corroborate with what The Strokes had seemed to suggest would take place after releasing ‘Angles‘ last year, when they quickly made their desire known to make amends for the problems which had dogged that album’s recording by entering the studio as quickly as possible to work on a follow-up.

However, fans will now be hoping the rumoured flat denial from management will not be the signal for another long wait for new Strokes material after the five-year gap between ‘Angles’ and their previous studio effort ‘First Impressions Of Earth‘, which was released in January 2006.
