The Stone Roses made an early return to the live stage last night (May 23rd), playing a surprise gig packed with classics at the Warrington Parr Hall.
The four reunited Manchester icons announced their first gig together in 16 years yesterday via their official website, with fans who brought along a Stone Roses CD inlay cover, record sleeve, official band T-shirt or Heaton Park ticket with them to the Warrington Pyramid box office gaining access to a coveted wristband.
Opening in style with ‘I Wanna Be Adored‘, the Roses aired a set featuring plenty of highlights from their seminal debut album, as well a handful of b-sides and the best of 1994’s ‘The Second Coming‘.
The Stone Roses will now begin their summer tour proper in Barcelona next month ahead of the three sold-out homecoming gigs at Manchester’s Heaton Park on June 29th, 30th and July 1st.
