Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash revealed to Rolling Stone that he would actually “love to fucking play” at the group’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction but knows it will not happen since Axl Rose “hates his guts”.
The ceremony takes place in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14th.
When asked about the possibility the guitarist answered: “This is a subject I’m dead sick of talking about. Everyone has been asking me what’s going to happen, and they know as much as I do. I feel you’re totally obligated to be present and I would love to fucking play, but it’s just something that’s not going to happen for whatever reason.”
On his relationship with Rose, Slash said there wasn’t one at all, saying of his former band mate : “He hates my guts. It’s over a lot of different stuff; I don’t even know. There’s just no communication between us. I talk to Duff McKagan [former Guns N’ Roses bass player] and Steven [Adler, former Guns N’ Roses drummer], but when it comes to old Guns N’ Roses, there really isn’t anybody that makes decisions.”
The release of Slash’s second solo album ‘Apocalyptic Love’ is scheduled for May 21. The guitar slinger is set to play a one-off UK show at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on June 6 and then moves on to headline the second stage at Download Festival on June 8th..
To be fair, Axl Rose is probably not the only person who hates Slash’ guts.
But on the other hand, Axl himself is neither a pr genius. Throughout all those years, a lot of the controversy they created I bet it was a stunt though.
