Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has described their recently announced headline appearance at this year’s Reading/Leeds festival as an ‘honour’.

Kasabian will top the bill at Reading on the Saturday, moving on to the Leeds site a day later, and will be backed on the Main Stage by the likes of Florence & The Machine, The Vaccines and The Shins.

“We’ve not been to Reading and Leeds for a long time, we’ve done the Vs and the other places and it’s nice to be asked back,” Meighan has told NME. “They’ve been getting the same bands for the last five years, but it’s an honour to play there.”

And when asked which songs he is most looking forward to playing, Meighan commented: “All of them. The moment we walk on that stage, the place will come alive. That’s where we most comfortable. We love playing live rock ‘n’ roll. We thrive off it.”

Joining Kasabian as headliners at the 2012 Reading/Leeds events will be The Cure and the Foo Fighters.
