Rolling Stones inspired urinals are ‘discrimination against women’

stonesA set of urinals inspired by The Rolling Stones‘ iconic logo, which have been installed in a German museum, have been criticised by feminist campaign groups who say they are ‘discrimination against women’, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The toilets have been placed in a new Rolling Stones museum, which is to open shortly in the German town Luechow. The Stones logo in question came to prominence in the 1970s, and was modelled by artist John Pasche on Mick Jagger‘s mouth. However, Roda Armbrusterm, described as a ‘local feminist’, has said that since the urinal is missing a tongue, it is in fact depicting a woman’s mouth.

“If the urinals sported a tongue, it would have been acceptable because the identification with the band and Jagger would have been unmistakable,” she said. “Without it, it’s a woman’s mouth, not a man’s mouth.”

The museum’s founder, Ulrich Schroeder, has refuted the allegations, and insists the urinals are here to stay.
