The Maccabees are to headline a special London gig early next year to mark MTV‘s annual Brand New For 2012 Award.
The Maccabees will top the bill at the London KOKO on January 24th, with support being provided by MTV Brand New For 2012 nominees Lana Del Ray and Charli XCX.
A day later, rising star Emeli Sandé will also perform at the KOKO, with support this time coming from Delilah and an as-yet-unconfirmed guest act.
MTV’s Brand New For 2012 shortlist was unveiled last week, with a new name due to be added to the rundown on January 8th. The overall winner will be unveiled on February 1st. Previous winners of the Brand New award include Lady Gaga, Friendly Fires, White Lies and Adele.
Tickets for the two London shows went onsale today, and are available on the MTV website.
