New Book To Document U2’s Record Breaking 360 World Tour

u2U2 are to document their incredible 360 world tour with a new book written by GQ editor Dylan Jones.

U2360: The Official Story of the Greatest Spectacle in Stadium-Rock History
will tell the story of the record breaking tour which began back in June 2009, not long after the release of the band’s twelfth studio album ‘No Line On The Horizon‘.

With their innovative ‘claw’ stage design in tow, U2 continued to sell out large venues the world-over throughout the remainder of 2009 and into 2010. In April this year, the tour was confirmed as the highest grossing of all time, surpassing The Rolling Stones‘ previous record garnered on their 2005-07 Bigger Bang tour.

After two years on the road, the 360 tour was brought to end in July at the Magnetic Hill Concert Site, in Moncton, Canada, by which time they had raked in $736,137,344 according to Billboard.com.

The book’s author, Dylan Jones, met the band at various times during the course of the long jaunt, including their long-awaited headline spot at Glastonbury last June.

The book is expected to be published by October 2012.
