The Maccabees New Album At The ‘Final Stage’

themaccabeesBrighton indie types The Maccabees are closing in on the completion of their third album, which they say is now at the ‘final stage’.

Speaking to NME at last weekend’s Bestival event on the Isle Of Wight, Hugo White revealed the band are now at the mixing stage, but have yet to put names to all of their new material.

“Some of them don’t have names, we’re finding the names really difficult. You should never leave the names to last you should do that early otherwise you get stuck,” he said. “We’re trying to finish mixing the record at the moment, it’s at the final stage so it’s all go.”

While bandmate Orlando Weeks confirmed one track has been fully completed. “One song is finished, we’d happily play it anybody but the other 11 are in various states of undress,” he explained. “I think this is a really different record, it’s taken us nearly two years to get together.”

The album will be the follow up to 2009’s Top 20 UK record ‘Wall Of Arms‘.
