Elbow have unveiled details of a special, one-off Manchester show to take place next month.
The band, who released the Mercury-nominated album ‘Build a Rocket Boys!‘ earlier this year, will perform at the Manchester Cathedral on October 27th.
The gig has been arranged in conjunction with BBC Radio 2, and support will be provided by newcomers The Slow Show, who were handed their break via the network’s Introducing initiative.
Appearing with Elbow on the night will be the Manchester-based Halle Youth Choir, who also featured on the ‘Build a Rocket…’ record.
The show will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 from 9pm on the 27th, and fans will also be able to watch the performance direct from Manchester via the Radio 2 website or the BBC Red Button interactive service.
On October 6th, Radio 2’s In Concert programme will provide all the details on how to get hold of tickets when the broadcast begins at 8pm.
